They are 1 1/4' square, and hang on a 3mm rubber cord with a sterling clasp. I usually start my day out forging spirals or hearts because they are so popular, but I needed to switch it up a bit yesterday. The above necklace has a piece of granite(?) a friend sent me from Lake Superior. The picture is a little dark so the color is a bit more subtle in real life. The whole necklace is about 18" long, with the stone close to 2" across. The whole piece has been coated with wax to preserve the finish. $275.00

This is a detail shot of the back of the necklace. I soldered some square silver wire onto some steel bar stock, then hammered the silver to flatten it out a bit. I love the graphic, yet earthy look of these pieces!!! Rectangles are 3/4" wide x 1" long, and the squares are 3/4". All the bar stock is 1/8" thick, so these have some good weight to them. These pieces are hung on steel ball chains and rubber cords. $32.00

Linked Bracelets

These steel and sterling linked bracelets are so comfy to wear! They hang on a sterling earwire, and sell for $35.00.

This necklace has some really cool movement, and sits on the neck nicely as a choker. We met on Facebook, (whole different story), and after seeing some of my work, wondered if she could send me a rock to make into a necklace. I myself, am a total rockhound, so I was thrilled when her Alaska(that's where she lives) showed up in the mail. This necklace was probably a little more elaborate($$$) than she was planning for, but I had been thinking about a chain like this for awhile, and that is what the rock was calling for. She LOVES it! The heart shaped rock is about 2" long, so the pendant has a total length of about 3". The chain consists of hand forged steel links, sterling jumprings and charms, with recycled glass beads as accents on a couple of the jumprings. The whole piece is about 22" long, but can be worn shorter by hooking the clasp on a different jumpring.

I liked the way Cindy's necklace came out so much, that I had to make a similar one with a Sedona Red Rock set into the pendant. The dimensions are about the same, but the charms vary slightly. This piece is currently on Display at the Co-op, and has a price tag of $300.00.

Forged Heart Necklaces

I hand forge these hearts out of 1/4" steel stock. They are about 2" wide, and look great as a choker or worn longer on a sweater or T-shirt. The adjustable cotton cord makes them quite versatile, and can be worn on a variety of necklines. Recycled glass beads are used as accents, and make an awesome compliment to the steel. I have coated the steel with wax to prevent rust, but pieces should be kept away from water when possible. $20.00 each

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388411630240347538" style="margin: 0px auto 10px;
